PATIENT PARTICIPATION GROUP ( PPG )

Welcome  from the Chairman

Like most GP practices, Queen Edith’s  has an active PPG, which  works  to complement the work of the Practice  We have representatives from all sections of the local community and act to foster constructive suggestions and proposals, designed to benefit the primary care services provided by the Practice, and as a sounding board for communication between the patient population and the medical teams.

We aim for a Group of between 16 and 20, which we think this about the right size to be able to operate effectively. We strive to be as representative as we can of the age, sex, and ethic balance of the catchment area  and our meetings are every 2 months, in the evening, and last only one hour.

We are not a mouth-piece for the Practice; we see ourselves as more of a ginger group or critical friend. Our role is largely informal but we do make an input to the Report  the QEMP makes to the NHS, and when the Practice is inspected  by the Care Quality Commission, we are consulted.

If you feel you would like make a contribution –  or if you think we could do things better (!) -  and can spare a modest amount of time, we would be delighted hear from you.
